Exhaust-gas treatment
Bosch began lambda oxygen sensor production in 1976 and was a breakthrough for the introduction of a closed-loop control three-way catalytic converter. Today the lambda closed-loop control is common to most cars with gasoline engines.
Bosch is developing system functions and components to support the efficient functioning of the NOx catalytic converters, including exhaust sensors based on the lambda oxygen sensor.
For diesel commercial vehicles, we have the Denoxtronic® reduction agent metering system which is used with the Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) converter.
For passenger cars we are developing a particulate filter designed to last the lifetime of the vehicle without need for maintenance or replacement.
