To maintain directional stability and prevent the driver from losing control of the vehicle, the wheels must not lock up during braking, nor should they spin when the vehicle is accelerating.
Bosch TCS helps prevent wheel spin to improve traction, stability and steerability. Each wheel is continuously monitored by wheel-speed sensors. TCS evaluates the wheel-speed sensor signals and immediately recognizes when a wheel begins to slip. In this case, TCS is activated and regulates the drive torques of the driven wheels. This electronic wheel-slip control selectively brakes individual wheels and intervenes in the engine management.
