The SCR operates with the reduction agent AdBlue. SCR catalytic converters can be used alone or in combination with a particulate filter, a component not yet available as standard equipment for commercial vehicles. A central part of the system is the DENOXTRONIC reduction-agent metering system from Bosch. At present, the SCR catalytic converter is being prepared for commercial production with a number of different vehicle manufacturers.
