| The SCR operates with AdBlue, a reduction agent which is injected into the exhaust-gas flow. It converts the toxic NOx | |
| in the exhaust gas into a harmless neutral gas. | |
| In order to reduce the emissions as far as possible, it is imperative that the reduction agent is always measured exactly in line with the engine's particular operating status. DENOXTRONIC supports this requirement. The electronic control processes the relevant data from the engine management together with the measured data from the exhaust system. | |
| The Bosch system precisely adapts the AdBlue reduction-agent measurement to the characteristics of engine and catalytic converter, in all operating conditions. | |
| DENOXTRONIC has proven its effectiveness in testing. When combined with the SCR catalytic converter, NOx emissions can be reduced by as much as 85 %, while at the same time the engine concept can be fine-tuned for economy. This can lead to further fuel savings of between 5 % and 10 %. Furthermore, DENOXTRONIC reduces particulate emissions. | |
