Passive driving safety
Passive driving-safety systems such as airbags, belt-tensioners or rollover bars protect the vehicle's occupants if an accident occurs. In order to determine which restraint media must be triggered, the central airbag control unit evaluates the signals from highly sensitive sensors.
From these signals it identifies, among other things:- the severity of the impact
- the direction of impact
- a vehicle rollover
