A great future is forecast for hybrid vehicles. Because everything is in favor of the intelligent combination of electric motor and internal-combustion engine in the powertrain. This technology is the ideal way of fulfilling not only the motorist's desire for lower fuel consumption and more driving fun but also the legal requirements for emission reduction. Classes of hybrid systems
The hybrid systems offered by Bosch can be subdivided by function into three classes:
micro, mild und strong hybrids.
Micro hybrids can use the Start/Stop function to start and stop the
engine automatically. Mild hybrids also have a Start/Stop function and
can, in addition, win back high-performance electrical energy and
increase driving torque.
Strong hybrids offer all the advantages of mild hybrids and can,
additionally, make exclusive use of electric drive to cover short
distances.
