Bosch is the pioneer of electronic engine control for
commercial vehicles. As early as 1989 the company
first presented its Electronic Diesel Control (EDC),
an electronic engine management system for trucks
comprising all functions in one control unit. It calculates,
among other things, the ideal injection process and
regulates maximum speed.
